Labor Market Impact Assessment exempts jobs

An employer can only issue a work permit for foreign workers only when he will submit a favorable LMIA. LMIA allows a foreign employee to work for one employer at one employment position.  To get a favorable or positive LMIA, the employer must prove that he/she had already advertised the requirement in Canada and has undertaken extensive efforts to find domestic employees before making up their mind to hire foreign workers for the position. Jobs that are exempt from LMIA
